Why Make Pork Chops in the Air Fryer

For juicy pork chops, you need to make sure the outside is cooked quickly so the juices get trapped inside. This can be done by searing the chops or by cooking them at a higher temperature in the air fryer. By air frying pork chops you eliminate the need for multiple dishes. You can cook them completely from start to finish in the air fryer which makes clean up a breeze!

Ingredients to Make Air Fryer Pork Chops

Pork chops – you can use either boneless pork chops or bone-in pork chops. I prefer using regular or thick cut pork chops because they don’t dry out as easily. Thin cut may be used but be sure to cook for much less time, checking often.Oil – I used an avocado oil for this recipe because it has a higher smoke point but any cooking oil will work great. Olive oil may also be used.Salt – not much salt is needed because the ranch dressing mix has a good amount of saltRanch seasoning mix – I love ranch mix because it is full of flavor and so easy to add! If you don’t have ranch mix or you just want to make ranch seasoning from scratch, simply use the seasonings used in our homemade ranch dressing recipe.Paprika – This gives the pork chops a beautiful color and also a subtle smoky flavor

For a Crispy Coating

If you are looking for a crispy pork chop, you can always add a seasoned crumb coating. To do this, combine the salt, ranch dressing mix and paprika with a cup of panko breadcrumbs and a half cup of parmesan cheese. Dredge the pork chop in flour, then in egg, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. Spray with cooking spray before cooking in the air fryer. If you notice the breadcrumbs getting too brown, lightly wrap the chops in foil an continue air frying until done.

How Long to Cook Pork Chops in the Air Fryer

Cooking time varies depending on the thickness of your pork chop. I used a thicker cut pork chop so I air fried for a total of 14 minutes. Regular cut pork chops (about 1″ thick) may only need 10-12 minutes. Thin cut pork chops may take as little as 8 minutes. The most important thing to do is check the internal temperature using a digital meat thermometer. For perfect pork chops, no matter the size, remove from the air fryer as soon as you reach 145 degrees F.
