Gluten Free at Disneyland

Several years ago, I found out that I could no longer eat gluten. One of my main concerns was, “how can I eat my favorite foods at Disneyland?” I didn’t want my newfound dietary restrictions to restrict my Disney experience. However, after doing some research I was pleasantly surprised at all the GF options at Disney. Keep reading for all of my tips and tricks to eating gluten free at Disneyland!

Gluten Free Sit Down Dining

Treat yourself to some of the most delicious food Disney has to offer by dining at one of the sit down restaurants. Making a reservation is the only way to guarantee a spot at one of these restaurants. You can reserve dining 60 days ahead on the Disneyland App or website starting at 3 AM Pacific Time. I always hop on as soon as it is available because reservations go fast. Click the names of the restaurants below to go to the reservation page. You can also mark on the reservation that you have a gluten allergy. If there is something specific on the menu you would like to eat, then let them know in advance. Most times, they can make you an allergy-friendly version with gluten free ingredients. Most of the sit down dining locations also have an allergy friendly menu available. Some off menu requests require more advance notice. If you would like to get a gluten free Monte Cristo sandwich at Cafe Orleans or Blue Bayou you need to email special.diets@disneyland.com at least 2 days ahead of your reservation! Be sure to have selected your allergy on the reservation, and include the name, date, time, and reservation number on your email.

Gluten Free Quick Service Dining

The easiest option for gluten free quick service dining is ordering it ahead on the Disneyland App. Each online menu has an Allergy Friendly section that breaks down what is available for certain allergies. You can add your GF selections to the cart, along with any orders from the regular menu for the rest of your party. Then check out and pay on the app, and pick it up when you are ready to eat! That being said you can still do walk up. When you order at the counter of any quick service dining spot, let the cast member know you have a gluten allergy. Most locations have an allergy menu or a cast member will let you know what is available. Any place that serves sandwiches carries gluten-free buns. I love that I can enjoy the same sandwiches, burgers and hot dogs as everyone else. If you’re going to a buffet, then let the cast members know of your dietary needs. They’re trained to walk you through and inform you which items are okay to eat.
