Instant Pot Pinto Beans

Cooking dried beans can be a time consuming process. However, you can speed it up using the Instant Pot! Now, don’t get me wrong, I often use canned beans in my cooking, but sometimes it is fun to take an ingredient up a notch! This Instant Pot Pinto Beans recipe is one of my favorite Instant Pot recipes because it is minimal effort, but delivers so much taste!

Ingredients

Dry Pinto Beans – Pinto beans means ‘painted beans’ in Spanish. When the beans are dry they are light tan with brown specks. Water – For simplicity, I use water to cook the beans. However, you can use chicken broth or vegetable broth to add more flavor. Onion – Use a small yellow or sweet onion for the best flavor. Bay Leaf – Don’t forget to take the bay leaf out after the beans are cooked! Salt and Pepper – Keep it simple with salt and pepper or spice it up with some of our suggestions below.
