Summer Peach Crisp

This gorgeous and sweet Peach Crisp recipe is our favorite quick dessert to whip up during those warm months when you want a sweet treat without much fuss. Fresh summer peaches sliced up with a buttery, crumbly, crisp topping that is so easy to make, topped with a giant scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream. This dessert is best served outside on the patio with friends and family, where you can chat late into the night.

Best Peaches for Peach Crisp

We love the taste of fresh peaches in this dessert. They’re juicy, ripe, full of flavor. However if the craving strikes when peaches aren’t in season, frozen peaches are the next best option. Canned peaches are also a terrific alternative too. If the peaches are too juicy or if they seem too wet you can add a tiny bit of cornstarch to thicken it up.

This peach crisp really is one of our favorite easy summer desserts. And all it takes are a few simple ingredients. Here’s what you need:

Peaches – fresh ripe peaches are delicious but you can use canned or frozen peaches.Raisins – you can substitute craisins or other dried fruit.Sugar – white sugar works great or you can combine some brown sugar into your streusel topping for an extra rich taste.Cinnamon – A  teaspoon ground cinnamon can also be combined with a pinch of nutmeg.Almond extract – this gives the streusel topping  a rich, nutty flavor.
